“Seeds” is an exploration of how words shape us over time. They start as seeds that are planted in kind and unkind ways. As we live, those seeds are watered by various individuals along our life’s path. In the end we get to decide if we will let those seeds bloom into beautiful flowers that inspire others or harmful weeds that destroy the living foliage surrounding us.
3. Kitri Variation
Restaged by: Elizabeth Kuhn
Performed by: Ballet Arts Centre Elite
Dancer: Kayla Henderson
The Kitri Variation is from Don Quixote, a ballet based on the famous novel Don Quixote de la Mancha by Miquel de Cervantes. It was originally choreographed by Marius Petipa and was first presented by Moscow’s Bolshoi Ballet. This variation celebrates the marriage of Kitri and Basilio. Don Quixote is the guest of honor, and the happy lovers dance for him.

This piece is an excerpt for the Three Hearts Dance season 9 concert depicting a young woman experiencing an internal battle with herself. It is like she's playing this game tug-of-war between her heart and mind. She feels as though she is constantly being pulled in different directions and is unsure of who to listen to or which way to turn. There are times when the feeling of rejection knocks her down that she looks within herself to pause, reflect and find a way out of this season of life by repeating affirmations. In broad terms, the message is to protect your body, mind, and soul by letting go of the things that no longer serve you, regardless of how they may affect other people.
